How to test them
Leave other perfumes off that day, so nothing interferes. Keep the rest of the vial for a second and third try in other weather. Check it after a few minutes, around midday and in the evening. Apply one or two sprays to clean skin, without other scented products nearby.
With 2, 5 or 10 ml in a glass spray vial you can find out how it behaves on your skin, at your own pace. Give every sample its own day, and come back to the one you keep thinking about. Trying it as a sample first means your decision rests on wearing it, not on a description.

Questions
Are these samples made by the brands?
No. They are decants: FragranceGems fills each one from the original bottle into a glass spray vial and labels it. They are not official brand samples.
How many samples should I try at once?
Two or three is a good number. Wear one per day, on clean skin, and write down what you notice in the morning and in the evening before you move to the next.
Why do some perfumes show no notes?
Because we only print notes we can trace to a source. Where no note list is on record, the page says so and leaves the judging to your own skin.
