Lime and coconut milk first
The recorded opening is Lime, Coconut Milk, Bergamot and Mandarin. Expect the citrus to arrive quickly and the coconut to soften it into something creamy. How much cream you notice on your skin, and how soon the citrus fades, is exactly what a sample can show you.

A sweet, floral middle
In the heart sit Sugarcane, Hibiscus, Jasmine and Gardenia. Sugarcane brings the sweetness, while hibiscus and the two white flowers lay a floral layer over it. If you usually avoid sweet florals, this is the stage where you will want to pay close attention.

Rum, musk and tonka underneath
The base is Rum, Musk, Tonka Bean and Patchouli. Rum and tonka keep the sweetness going, musk holds it close to the skin, and patchouli gives it a slightly earthy floor. Wear the sample until this stage so you judge the whole arc, not only the opening.

How to test it
Spray it on clean skin on a warm day, since the citrus and coconut are written for summer. Smell it after a few minutes, again at midday and again in the evening, and note what remains. Repeat on a cooler day to see whether the sweetness feels different when the weather changes.
Who it is for
Aquatica suits people who enjoy sweet, fruity-creamy perfumes and want something closer to a holiday than to an office. FragranceGems lists it for men, yet the notes (coconut, sugarcane, flowers) are not tied to one wearer. If you prefer dry or smoky scents, test it before buying.

Frequently asked
Is this the same perfume as the full bottle?
Yes, the liquid is taken from the original bottle and poured into a 10 ml glass spray vial by FragranceGems. The vial carries our own label, so it is a decant and not a sample made by the brand.
Does the coconut stay or fade?
That depends on your skin, the weather and how much you apply. Coconut Milk is listed in the opening, so notice whether you still find it later, next to the tonka bean in the base. A few wearings tell you more than a single one.
Can I wear it in colder months?
You can. The base of rum, musk, tonka bean and patchouli has some warmth to it. With the decant you find out whether the bright opening still feels right in cold weather, before you decide on a full bottle.
