One citrus note up front
Bergamot opens the perfume. On its own it is bright and slightly bitter, and with so few notes around it you can follow it closely. Pay attention to how long the citrus stays distinct before the musk starts to take over the picture on your skin.

A soft musk in the middle
The heart is Musk, a soft note that sits close to the skin. A single musk can feel clean on one wearer and warm on another, depending on skin chemistry. That variation is the best reason to wear a sample before committing to a whole bottle.

Cedar to finish
Cedar forms the base and gives the composition a warm, woody floor. With no other base notes to mask it, the wood is easy to judge: dry or creamy, sharp or rounded. The decant lets you decide whether that single-note ending is what you want.

How to test it
Wear it on bare skin with nothing else scented, because a three-note perfume is easily changed by a body lotion or a shirt washed in strong detergent. Try it on two or three ordinary days, at work and at home, and compare how the musk and the cedar feel against each other.
Who it is for
Cedrus Blanc is for people who like their perfume simple and quiet and who would rather recognise every note than puzzle over a long list. Its unisex tag at FragranceGems says it is not made for one wearer. If you look for something dramatic, a three-note pyramid may feel too restrained, which a sample will tell you quickly.

Frequently asked
Does a three-note perfume change much on skin?
It can, because each note has more room to show. The citrus opening gives way to musk and then to cedar, but the length of each stage depends on your skin. Wearing the decant a few times shows your own pattern.
Is the vial easy to carry?
Yes. It is a 10 ml glass spray vial, small enough for a bag or a jacket pocket, so you can try the perfume at different moments of the day without taking the whole bottle along.
What if I find it too quiet?
Then the sample did its job. Apply a bit more at the next wearing, and if it still feels too subtle you know before buying a full bottle. A reserved perfume suits some people and not others.
