Maison Francis Kurkdjian, co-founded in Paris in 2009 by the perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and Marc Chaya, treats perfume as a wardrobe: a set of scents you choose from according to mood. Several exist in two concentrations, and one pair, Gentle Fluidity, uses the same six ingredients for two different results. A wardrobe is something you try on, and with 10 ml decants you can compare an eau de parfum with its extrait on your own skin before deciding.

Four samples from the wardrobe
Grand Soir is the evening perfume: cistus labdanum and lavender over a warm vanilla amber accord, with cinnamon. Baccarat Rouge 540, created with the crystal maker Baccarat for its 250th anniversary, is built on Hedione, Ambroxan and saffron. Oud Satin Mood wraps oud in violet, Damascena rose, benzoin and a vanilla amber accord. 724 is the clean one, bergamot and aldehydes over white flowers, sandalwood and white musk.
Eau de parfum next to extrait
Three of the perfumes we decant come in two strengths. The Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait de Parfum adds Cashmeran and Grandiflorum jasmine to Ambroxan and saffron; the brand presents it as the more intense version. The Oud Satin Mood extrait brings geranium, Centifolia rose and cinnamon. Amyris Homme, written for men, is an Eau de Toilette of mandarin, rosemary, amyris and iris, and an extrait in which vanilla and cinnamon join.
Six ingredients, two silhouettes
Gentle Fluidity Silver and Gentle Fluidity Gold share one list: juniper berries, nutmeg, coriander seeds, musks, amber woods and vanilla. In Silver, nutmeg and amber woods lead; in Gold, coriander, musks and vanilla do. The house names purity, sophistication and a reinvented classicism among its codes. Our decants are filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us; they are not official brand samples.

Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum or Extrait de Parfum?
Try both. The Eau de Parfum lists Hedione, Ambroxan and saffron; the Extrait de Parfum lists Cashmeran, Ambroxan, Grandiflorum jasmine and saffron, and the brand describes it as the more intense version. Worn on two wrists, the difference is easy to judge.
What is the idea behind Gentle Fluidity?
Two eaux de parfum made from the same six ingredients, dosed differently. Gentle Fluidity Silver puts nutmeg and amber woods in front; Gentle Fluidity Gold favours coriander seed, musks and vanilla for a rounder trail. Samples of both show how much dosage changes a perfume.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again. Only thing I hope is that you guys would negotiate better price for GLS shipping to Finland. But I know that is not always possible.
