Argos is a Texan house, founded in Dallas in 2014 by the self-trained perfumer Christian Petrovich, and every one of its perfumes retells a Greek or Roman myth. The style is rich and layered: rum and tobacco, roses and raspberry, citrus over cashmere wood and Mysore sandalwood, blended and macerated in the brand's own laboratory in France. Because each perfume is built as a story with a long base, a 10 ml decant tells you more than any spray on paper.

Where to begin with Argos samples
Triumph of Bacchus is the one most people ask for: saffron, rum, white peach and green apple over patchouli and tonka, finishing on tobacco, amber and Mysore sandalwood. Adonis Awakens is the rose, Bulgarian rose and jasmine sambac sweetened with raspberry and chestnut. Birth of Venus is the fruity floral, narcissus and iris with a hint of chocolate. Danaë is the fresh woody one, bergamot and Sicilian lemon over guaiac, cedar and cashmere wood.
What the house feels like on skin
Argos perfumes are generous in the base. Most of them end on Mysore sandalwood, cashmere wood, amber or musk, so the second half of the day matters more than the first spray. Fall of Phaeton and Sacred Flame are the spicy, resinous ones, with cardamom, ginger and clove up top and labdanum, benzoin and tonka below. Neptune's Trident, sold only as an Extrait, is cooler: lavender, green tea and orange blossom over vetiver and iris.
Myths, paintings and a French laboratory
The Artist Series pairs each myth with a painting, from Klimt's Danaë and Pallas Athene to Waterhouse's Adonis and Rottmayr's Neptune, reproduced on a metal plate set into thick Italian glass. Blending and maceration take place in the brand's own French laboratory; the brand states its perfumes are cruelty-free. Our decants are filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us; they are not official brand samples.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again. Only thing I hope is that you guys would negotiate better price for GLS shipping to Finland. But I know that is not always possible. And I noticed the prices were lower than the competitors so the steep shipping price was not that big of a deal. Good job all in all.
