A Dubai factory with a Paris name

Dumont describes itself as a fragrance manufacturer with a factory in Dubai, founded in 2013 on the back of an older trading company, and names quality, luxury and elegance as its guiding words. It also develops perfumes for other labels. FragranceGems presents the brand as elegant and versatile, suited to daily wear as well as occasions, which fits the Nitro series: one idea in several moods.

Nitro, colour by colour

Dumont Nitro Blue opens with orange blossom, cinnamon, sage, lemon and basil, turns to praline, tolu balsam, woods and black cardamom and ends sweet and warm. Dumont Nitro Green starts unusually with vanilla, saffron and jasmine, then lavender, green leaves, cedar and amberwood, on a fir and amber base. Dumont Nitro White is the resinous one, juniper berry, iris and cypress over myrrh and patchouli; Dumont Nitro Red and Dumont Nitro Intense complete the set.

Dumont Nitro White is the Nitro ordered most often as a sample at FragranceGems, with honey, vanilla, amber, musk and leather in its base. Dumont Nitro Blue and Dumont Nitro Green are far enough apart to make a useful second pair: sweet spice against green saffron. With those three you have the directions of the series. Wear each on a full day; the bases take their time.

Which Dumont Nitro should I sample first?

Dumont Nitro White, the one ordered most often, if you like iris and myrrh on a honeyed leather base; Dumont Nitro Blue for cinnamon, praline and cardamom; Dumont Nitro Green for saffron, lavender and cedar. Together they show how different one series can be.

Are the Nitro perfumes only for men?

FragranceGems lists them for men, but Nitro Green's vanilla and saffron opening is softer than that suggests. A sample on your own skin is the better judge.

How is a Dumont sample at DecantGems made?

FragranceGems fills it from the original Dumont bottle into a glass spray vial and labels it by hand. It is our decant; the house is not involved, and we are not affiliated with the brand.
