The top mixes apple, pink pepper, mandarin, grapefruit, black pepper and pineapple. FragranceGems calls it dynamic, both sweet and sharp. With so many notes it is worth smelling the opening twice, a minute apart, to catch how the pepper and fruit trade places.

The heart is unusual: cedar, salt, sea water, cognac and vetiver. FragranceGems describes mineral sea notes against the warmth of cognac, with an aristocratic, almost intoxicating depth. This is the stage that decides whether you like it, so give it time.

The base is amberwood, musk, toffee, sandalwood and vanilla. FragranceGems says the creamy toffee melts into the robust amberwood. It is the sweetest stage, so check whether the sea in the heart is still audible next to it.

How to test it
Wear it on a cool autumn or winter day, once on the wrist. The heart is the part to follow, so smell again when the pepper has gone and write down whether you notice more salt, more cognac or more wood. A second try in the evening shows how the toffee and vanilla take over.
Who it is for
For people who want a bold, unisex perfume that mixes sea notes with sweet depth, for daily wear, evenings and special occasions in autumn and winter, at strong intensity. If you like aquatic perfumes but find them cold, the cognac and toffee may be what warms this one.

Is Nitro Gold more aquatic or more sweet?
Both are on the record: salt and sea water in the heart, toffee and vanilla in the base. FragranceGems tags it aquatic, gourmand and woody, so expect a mix.
Is the pineapple prominent?
It is the last of six top notes, after apple, pink pepper, mandarin, grapefruit and black pepper. In the recorded order it is one fruit among many.
Is it suitable for summer?
FragranceGems lists autumn and winter. Anyone curious about the sea notes in warmer air can test a little of the sample before deciding.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
