Grapefruit all the way through
The record lists fizzy grapefruit in the top, the heart and the base, which makes it the thread of the whole perfume. Around it come bergamot, mandarin orange, magnolia and ginger, a citrus opening with a floral and spicy edge. Notice how bright the first minutes feel on your skin.

Neroli, ginger, water
The heart keeps the grapefruit and ginger and adds neroli, powdery notes and water notes. That mix points to a clean, airy middle rather than a heavy one. The powdery notes soften the citrus, so this is the stage to judge whether the perfume feels crisp or soft to you.

Musk, cedar and orris root
The base holds amber, musk, cedar, patchouli and orris root, with the grapefruit still present. Orris root is a powdery, quiet note and cedar a dry wood, so the finish should settle softly. Smell it again in the evening to see how the citrus has changed.

How to test it
Spray it on clean skin on a warm day, one spray on the wrist and one at the neck, and note the first citrus burst. Come back to it later and notice whether the water and powdery notes take over. Because it is an extrait, start with one spray and add a second only on a second trial.

Mykonos is an Indonesian perfume house with a Mediterranean name. Its motto is "Born in Indonesia. Built for the world", the perfumes are produced in Indonesia and most of them are Extrait de Parfum, with a few Eau de Parfum. The range in Europe spans six scent families. A sample is the easiest way to find out which of those families suits your skin before you choose a 50 ml or 100 ml bottle.
