Mykonos, one of the houses FragranceGems runs itself, makes Reflection Elixir as an Extrait de Parfum. It opens with grapefruit, bergamot, ginger and rhubarb leaves, moves to ylang-ylang, peach and magnolia, and settles on ambroxan, musk and a chypre accord. A bright start over a soft floral heart is easier to judge on skin than on paper, which is what a 10 ml decant is for.

Grapefruit, bergamot, ginger and rhubarb leaves
The recorded top has two citrus fruits, grapefruit and bergamot, with ginger for a little heat and rhubarb leaves for a green, slightly tart edge. Expect it to feel crisp and sharp at first. Use the first minutes to see whether that sharpness is something you enjoy.

Ylang-ylang, peach and magnolia
The heart brings three soft, rounded notes: ylang-ylang, peach and magnolia. Together they turn the bright opening into something creamier and fuller. This is the stage that tells you if the floral and fruit side suits your taste or feels too rich for your usual style.

How to test it
Apply the decant to clean skin on a mild day, since it is tagged for spring, summer and autumn, and wear it for daily errands, work or an evening. Smell it at the start, once the flowers show and again later in the day. A second wearing in different weather helps to confirm your first impression.
Who it is for
For people who like citrus and florals in an extrait, with a clean musky finish, and who want one perfume for several seasons and occasions. FragranceGems lists it as unisex. If you usually avoid peach or ylang-ylang in perfume, the sample shows very quickly whether this version is different for you.

What is the Reflection Elixir sample?
The sample is 10 ml of Reflection Elixir in a glass spray vial, filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us. Mykonos is a FragranceGems house, so we fill the vial from our own bottle.
Is it fresh or floral?
Both. Grapefruit, bergamot, ginger and rhubarb leaves give the fresh opening, while ylang-ylang, peach and magnolia give the floral and fruity heart. The sample shows which side your skin favours.
