Violet and geranium
The note list gives no pyramid, but violet and geranium come first on it. They bring a soft, powdery, slightly green opening before the oud. On a sample this early stage is gentle, and it shows how the brand eases you toward the darker wood.

Oud is the centre, and the brand says plentiful roses, Centifolia and Damascena, soften its dark, animal side. That is the idea of the perfume: a satin finish on a wood that could otherwise be harsh. Whether that softening feels right is something you judge on your skin.

About Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Maison Francis Kurkdjian, co-founded in Paris in 2009 by the perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and Marc Chaya, treats perfume as a wardrobe: a set of scents you choose from according to mood. Several exist in two concentrations, and one pair, Gentle Fluidity, uses the same six ingredients for two different results. A wardrobe is something you try on, and with 10 ml decants you can compare an eau de parfum with its extrait on your own skin before deciding.
