Essential Parfums was started in Paris in 2018 by Géraldine Archambault after thirty years in the industry, with one rule: a different perfumer for every eau de parfum, working freely and signing the bottle. The brand states 16 to 18% concentration and 82 to 93% ingredients of natural origin, alcohol from beetroot and no added colour. The results are clear and uncluttered, which is why a sample tells you quickly whether a bottle belongs on your shelf.

Which Essential Parfums samples to try first
Bois Impérial, by Quentin Bisch, is the house's calling card: Thai basil and Timut pepper over Haitian vetiver, Georgywood and Akigalawood, with Indonesian patchouli at the end. Divine Vanille, by Olivier Pescheux, is Madagascan vanilla absolute with tonka, benzoin and cinnamon bark on cedarwood and musks. Nice Bergamote sets Calabrian bergamot in rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang. The Musc pairs red ginger and lavandin with beeswax and sandalwood.
What to expect on skin
At 16 to 18% these eaux de parfum are moderate rather than loud, and the high share of natural ingredients shows: the basil of Bois Impérial, the orange peel of Orange X Santal and the fig of Fig Infusion read as the thing itself before the woods take over. Rose Magnetic keeps a Turkish rose fresh with grapefruit and peppermint; Patchouli Mania goes darker with cocoa and Clearwood over patchouli and vetiver. Wear each sample a full day.
Perfumers who sign the bottle
The brand's manifesto reads 'Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication', and it presents the perfumers as the artists: Quentin Bisch, Calice Becker, Dominique Ropion, Nathalie Lorson and Jordi Fernández each sign their creation on the label. Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again. Only thing I hope is that you guys would negotiate better price for GLS shipping to Finland. But I know that is not always possible. And I noticed the prices were lower than the competitors so the steep shipping price was not that big of a deal. Good job all in all.
