Nice Bergamote from Essential Parfums is an unisex Eau de Parfum from 2018, composed by Antoine Maisondieu around natural Calabrian bergamot. Citrus as the main subject
The brand builds the perfume on natural bergamot from Calabria, and it leads rather than flashing past. Bergamot peel has a faintly bitter, almost floral edge, which is why it sits so naturally with the flowers that follow.

A small floral accord
The floral part is rose petals, jasmine and ylang-ylang. In a short list you can tell them apart more easily than in a large pyramid: rose fresh, jasmine rounder, ylang-ylang a little creamier. Nothing here is meant to be heavy.

Wood and tonka to close
Cedarwood forms a warm, dry base and Venezuelan tonka bean softens it. The result is more rounded than a plain citrus cologne yet still bright. The brand adds that the tonka beans and the ylang-ylang come from sourcing it describes as sustainable.

What do I receive as the sample?
A 10 ml decant of Nice Bergamote, filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle into a glass spray vial and labelled by us. It is not a brand sample, and Essential Parfums is not involved.
Is it a purely citrus fragrance?
No. Bergamot is in front, yet the three flowers give it body, and cedarwood with tonka bean adds warmth. Citrus is the theme, not the entire perfume.
How do I know if the floral part suits me?
Wear it a few times and notice which flower you pick up first. With only three named, it is easy to tell whether rose, jasmine or ylang-ylang is the one you like or avoid.
Is it for men or women?
The brand calls it unisex. A bright, floral-citrus structure with cedar underneath does not lean on any gender stereotype, so testing it on your own skin is the only judge that counts.

Essential Parfums was started in Paris in 2018 by Géraldine Archambault after thirty years in the industry, with one rule: a different perfumer for every eau de parfum, working freely and signing the bottle. The brand states 16 to 18% concentration and 82 to 93% ingredients of natural origin, alcohol from beetroot and no added colour. The results are clear and uncluttered, which is why a sample tells you quickly whether a bottle belongs on your shelf.
