Al Ambra is a Dubai house, founded in 2016, that develops and produces its perfumes in its own workshop at Dubai Investment Park. Everything we decant from it is an Extrait de Parfum made with warm climates in mind: smooth, oil-rich textures that stay close to the skin rather than filling a room. Three or four samples show the range, from a clean musk to a sugared vanilla, before you commit to a bottle.

About Al Ambra
Which Al Ambra samples to try first
Dubai Musk is the natural opener: bergamot and blackcurrant over magnolia and sandalwood, with musk and hedione underneath, a skin scent the brand calls minimal. Black Forest goes even sparser, grapefruit and ambroxan over woody notes. Black Forest Elixir adds aldehydes, white peach and orange blossom to a musky vanilla base. Loren swaps the clean side for candy, berries and soft leather with apricot and patchouli.
What to expect on skin
The house builds for heat: its Extraits are meant to sit smoothly on the skin with an oil-rich feel, and the fresher ones, Dubai Musk and Black Forest, read as clean and quiet rather than sharp. Ravenna starts brighter, with lemon, pineapple and mango, before ginger, black tea and guaiac wood take over. Vanilla Night & Day is the dessert of the line: red fruits, caramel, honey and a powdery sugar-and-musk base.
A young house with its own workshop
Al Ambra was established in Dubai in 2016 by Abdul Rahiman Mukarithottam with co-founder Ghanim Yaqoob Jumma Khurram. The name joins 'Al', for the Arabic tradition of oud, incense and oils, with 'Ambra', amber and its warmth. Development and production happen in-house; no outside perfumer is named. Our 10 ml decants are filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us; they are not official brand samples.

Which Al Ambra sample should I try first?
Start with Dubai Musk if you like clean skin scents, or with Loren if you prefer sweet and leathery. Black Forest Elixir sits between the two: an aldehydic floral with a musky vanilla base. Three samples cover the clean and the gourmand side of the house.
Are Al Ambra perfumes unisex?
The brand files Dubai Musk, Black Forest, Black Forest Elixir, Ravenna and Loren as unisex. Only Vanilla Night & Day is presented as a women's perfume, although a sweet vanilla on skin is a matter of taste more than of gender.
What makes Al Ambra different from other houses?
It is a Dubai house that develops and makes everything itself, names no outside perfumer and works only in Extrait de Parfum for the perfumes we decant. The compositions are designed for warm weather, with smooth drydowns and oil-rich textures.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again. Only thing I hope is that you guys would negotiate better price for GLS shipping to Finland. But I know that is not always possible. And I noticed the prices were lower than the competitors so the steep shipping price was not that big of a deal. Good job all in all.
