The four to deal first

Game of Spades Wildcard heads the line: bergamot, flowers and coriander over apple, ambroxan and vanilla, with tonka bean and woody notes beneath. Game of Spades Full-House is the bright one, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange into neroli, ginger and cinnamon. Game of Spades Royale is dessert, hazelnut and cacao over jasmine sambac and caramel. Game of Spades King runs from citrus through fruits to amber, Madagascar vanilla and white musk.

Fresh hands and sweet hands

The rest of the deck splits the same way. On the fresh side, Emerald pairs bergamot, ginger and grapefruit with orange blossom and musk, Double Bonus puts neroli over cardamom, nutmeg, pepper and vetiver, and Bonus adds mint, black currant and basil to May rose, dates and fig. On the sweet side, No Limit sets coffee, coconut, iris and milk chocolate on oud and tonka bean. Black Sapphire sits between: pear, ginger, orange blossom, musk and cedar.

What is known about the house

The house says little about itself. Its webshop carries a New York address, the name says Paris, and one product page describes a perfume as crafted in Paris; no perfumer is named. What is consistent is the format: every Game of Spades perfume is a Parfum in a bottle colour of its own.
