First minutes
For the first impression, the house names Lemon, Mandarin, Oud and Saffron. Opening notes set the tone but do not stay. What reads as sweet on one person can read as dry on another. Wear it on more than one day before you make up your mind.

The heart
Heart notes on record: Rose and Patchouli. This is the part you will be aware of for most of the time you wear it. A paper strip shows the outline, skin shows the detail. Do not judge it next to other perfumes on the same arm, as they blur each other.

Later in the day
The house lists Leather, Guaiacwood, Sandalwood and White Musk in the base of Black Aoud. This is the stage you live with longest, so it deserves the most attention. Notes on a list are a map, and what you notice on your own skin is the territory.

With no season on file for Montale Black Aoud, the fair test is simply several different days. Keep the rest of the vial for a second and third try in other weather. Ask someone you trust what they notice, because your own nose adapts quickly.

It is a small glass spray vial of 2, 5 or 10 ml with our own label on it. It sprays like a bottle, so you apply Black Aoud the way you normally would.
What kind of scent is Black Aoud?
DecantGems classifies it as oriental, woody and floral. Families are broad, so treat that as a direction and let a few wearings of the sample fill in the detail.
How should I keep the vial?
Closed, upright if possible, and away from heat and direct sunlight, the same way you would keep a full bottle. That keeps Black Aoud as it was when we filled it.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
