About Maison Margiela

Four memories to start with

Replica By the Fireplace is winter indoors: clove, a chestnut accord, gaïac wood and cade over vanilla and Peru balsam. Replica Jazz Club is a basement bar, rum absolute and clary sage over tobacco leaf, styrax and vanilla bean. Replica Lazy Sunday Morning is clean linen, pear, lily of the valley and aldehydes over iris, rose and white musks. Replica Beach Walk is summer skin: bergamot, lemon and ylang ylang with a coconut milk accord.

Indoors, outdoors

The rest splits into rooms and landscapes. Replica Coffee Break pairs a coffee accord with lavender and a milk mousse accord; Replica Bubble Bath is a soap bubbles accord with lavender, rose and a coconut milk accord. Outside, Replica Under the Lemon Trees has kalamansi lime, mate and green tea, Replica Sailing Day an aquatic accord with juniper and red seaweed, Replica Autumn Vibes cardamom, nutmeg, moss and fir balsam.

A label borrowed from fashion

Replica takes its idea from the Maison's 1994 fashion pieces of the same name: items found around the world and reproduced, each labelled with the source and period of the original. The first fragrance of the house came out in 2010 and Replica followed in 2012; each one is made with a different perfumer.
