Start from a clean slate
Wash the spot you plan to use with unscented soap and let it dry fully. Perfume reacts with what is already on skin, so a clean wrist gives the most honest first impression of Vulcan Sable. Leave deodorant and body lotion away from the test area.

Two spots, two answers
Try one spray on the inside of the wrist and another on the inner elbow, where skin is warmer. Notice if the two smell different. Warmth lifts some materials and mutes others, and this tells you whether the perfume suits your body temperature as much as your taste.

Let it settle
After the busy first minutes the perfume steadies into its real character. Leave it alone through lunch or a few errands, then smell again without thinking about it. If you reach for your wrist a second time without being asked to, that is already a positive sign.

Wear Vulcan Sable for two ordinary days and leave your other perfumes at home. Keep a short note each time: the first reaction, the middle of the day, and what stays on the shirt. By the end you have a plain record of whether you reached for it again.

Without recorded notes, a sample is the most reliable thing we can offer for Vulcan Sable. It is filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us, so you are trying the same perfume as the full bottle, only in a small glass spray vial. French Avenue has no part in the decant.

Why does the page not describe the scent?
We only describe what is recorded, and for Vulcan Sable we hold no notes or description. A few days of wearing the decant will tell you more than a guess from us.
How long should I test before deciding?
Two or three separate days give a fair picture, since weather, food and mood all shift how a perfume comes across. One quick sniff is rarely enough.
Is this decant made by French Avenue?
No, it is not an official brand sample: the perfume goes from the original bottle into a glass spray vial at FragranceGems, which labels it, and French Avenue is not involved.

The house says it wants to bring "the richness of Parisian fragrance to everyone" and describes its perfumes as premium blends that balance quality and value. Many of them are here as samples, from the sweet Liquid Brun and Vulcan Feu to the icy Aromatix Platine Blanc. The range is broad, so sample first and let your skin sort it.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
