For Narcotic V., Nasomatto speaks of a quest for overwhelming, addictive intensity. That is the brand's own phrase, and we pass it on as an attitude, not as a promise about any effect. It tells you what the house was aiming at but nothing about the ingredients.

What the name leaves open
The word narcotic belongs to the brand's chosen imagery. It is not a note and it says nothing about the contents, which are undisclosed. Without a pyramid, any description of the scent would be invention, so we offer none. Only your skin can fill that gap.

The cap, at least
One concrete detail the brand does give is the cap, which is made of wild zebrawood. It belongs to the full bottle rather than to the decant, whose vial is plain glass. It is a small reminder that the house takes the object seriously, whatever it keeps quiet about the liquid.

About Nasomatto
Nasomatto publishes no notes. Alessandro Gualtieri, the Italian perfumer known as The Nose, gives each perfume a sentence or two about the feeling or effect it aims for and leaves the rest to the wearer. That makes this house a special case for samples: with no pyramid to go by, the only way to know what Black Afgano or Baraonda is like is to wear it. A 10 ml decant of the Extrait de Parfum gives you the time to do that properly.
