Pendora Scents Poppy Pulse is a Parfum with a short pyramid: ambrette and fig on top, orris root and poppy in the heart, tonka bean and heliotrope underneath. Ambrette and fig
The opening has two notes, ambrette and fig. Ambrette is a plant seed with a soft, slightly musky and fruity smell. Together with fig it gives a gentle, understated start rather than a loud one. Smell your wrist directly and again a little later.

Orris root and poppy
The heart is orris root and poppy. Orris, the dried root of the iris, is the powdery, slightly earthy ingredient that gives the perfume its character, and FragranceGems builds the floral side around it. Poppy adds a delicate flower note. This stage tells you whether you like powdery scents.

Tonka bean and heliotrope
Tonka bean and heliotrope form the base, a soft, creamy finish according to FragranceGems. Heliotrope has an almond-like, powdery sweetness, and tonka adds warmth. Together they make a gentle end, best judged on a second day when the powder has settled.

How to test it
Try it on clean skin on a mild day in spring or autumn, and give it some time before you judge, as powdery scents develop slowly. Compare your wrist with your clothing later in the day. On a quiet day at home the orris and poppy are easier to notice than in a rush.
