From Lancôme there are 49 samples in our shop. This guide walks through 8 of them using only what is on record: names, concentrations, note lists and tags. Nothing here is a verdict: the order is arbitrary and your skin decides.

Lancôme La Nuit Trésor

Lancôme La Nuit Trésor is filed as an Eau de Parfum from Lancôme; the note list on record reads black rose essence heart, Vanilla tahitensis orchid absolute, incense, papyrus essence and lychee praline. By family it is filed as gourmand, amber and floral. Wear it on more than one day before you make up your mind.

Lancôme Trésor

By family it is filed as floral, gourmand and musky. Do not judge it next to other perfumes on the same arm, as they blur each other.

Lancôme Hypnôse

With Lancôme Hypnôse, Lancôme has an Eau de Parfum for which passion flower, jasmine, vetiver and vanilla are on record. It is tagged floral, gourmand and woody. Warm skin and cool skin can bring out different sides, so try both if you can.

How to test them

Wear it on at least three different days before you decide. Leave other perfumes off that day, so nothing interferes. Try it once at home and once outdoors, since air and temperature change the impression. Note what you think each time, and read your notes back at the end of the week.

The small size, 2, 5 or 10 ml, is meant for exactly that: a few honest wearings before anything bigger. Two or three samples at a time is plenty; more than that and the impressions blur. A decant of 2, 5 or 10 ml lets you wear it on several days before you decide about a full bottle.

How were these samples chosen?

By the tags and note lists on record for each perfume. Nothing was added from memory, the order is not a ranking, and perfumes without recorded notes are described without notes.

Are these samples made by the brands?

No. They are decants: FragranceGems fills each one from the original bottle into a glass spray vial and labels it. They are not official brand samples.

Why do some perfumes show no notes?

Because we only print notes we can trace to a source. Where no note list is on record, the page says so and leaves the judging to your own skin.
