Which Tiziana Terenzi sample to try first
Tiziana Terenzi grew out of a family candle workshop and tells each extrait as a memory. Eight samples in order of Parfumo ratings, and a map of the sandalwood and oud.
Tiziana Terenzi grew out of a family candle workshop, Cereria Terenzi in Cattolica, whose packaging prints “Since 1968”. The perfumes are extraits de parfum, and each is told as a memory of the siblings Tiziana and Paolo Terenzi: a night under the stars, a sailing trip, a bonfire. The brand says its production is done strictly by hand, without haste. The collections carry names such as Classic, Luna, Anniversary and Comete. The pyramids are long and the stories are vivid, but a story does not tell you how a perfume will sit on your skin, so a Tiziana Terenzi sample is the practical first step.
Tiziana Terenzi: eight samples, ordered by ratings
We ordered the samples on our list by the number of ratings each perfume has collected on Parfumo, as gathered by NicheGems. Rating counts show how widely a perfume is discussed, not how good it is. Notes are given as the house records them.
Kirkè (2015) is the sorceress Circe in scent: passion fruit, peach, raspberry, cassis and pear over lily of the valley, then heliotrope, sandalwood, vanilla, patchouli and musk.

Rosso Pompei (2020) takes its name from the red of the Villa of the Mysteries: grapefruit, lemon and grape, then ambergris, tuberose, magnolia and jasmine, over sandalwood, red patchouli and cedar of Lebanon.

Orion (2015) recalls sailing trips with the grandfather: bergamot, red currant and apple, then patchouli, birch and thyme, over incense, amber, agarwood and cedar.

Spirito Fiorentino (2018) is a portrait of Florence from a tall tower under a red moon: lily, orange and saffron, then ylang ylang and magnolia, over oakmoss, sandalwood, birchwood and Tuscan leather.

Cassiopea (2015) is the lighter, brighter one, a family holiday under a yellow moon: passion fruit, lemon and cassis, carnation and rosa tea, over sandalwood, fava tonka and musk.

Laudano Nero (2014) is a rainy autumn in bohemian Paris, with a small bonfire at a crossroads: absinthe, cognac, rosemary and Latakia tobacco, red rose and acacia honey, over incense, agarwood, vetiver and Madagascan vanilla.

Delox (2017) is a sailing trip around the Cyclades: white hyacinth, royal iris and coffee, then Turkish rose, vanilla and sweet myrrh, over amber, white musk and acacia honey.

Gold Rose Oudh (2012) is a first night in a desert tent: bergamot, fir and ember, then rose, patchouli and black pepper, over oudh, amber, sandalwood, musk and honey.

Two more complete the ten. Andromeda (2015) mixes cut grass, water jasmine, Damask rose and pear nectar with coconut powder, vanilla and powdered sugar. Dionisio (2018, Anniversary collection) builds ambergris, musk and Tahitian vanilla around a dark oudh.
The Tiziana Terenzi note map
Sandalwood sits in six of the eight, and musk in most. Oud links Orion, Laudano Nero and Gold Rose Oudh, with Dionisio as a ninth, and rose links Laudano Nero, Delox and Gold Rose Oudh. Vanilla runs through Kirkè, Laudano Nero and Delox, incense through Orion and Laudano Nero, and saffron opens Spirito Fiorentino. The oud samples guide and the rose samples guide place those notes among other houses.
A first order of Kirkè, Orion and Laudano Nero covers fruit, fresh incense and dark smoke. Extrait de parfum samples shows the same concentration at other houses, and how to test perfume on skin gives a simple routine.
From Tiziana Terenzi sample to bottle
If one holds up over several wearings, the bottle is the next step. Our vial is filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us; Tiziana Terenzi is not involved and it is not a brand sample. The first perfume in full size is at Tiziana Terenzi Kirkè. The sample set page shows how to combine vials, and the FAQ covers filling and labels.
FAQ
Which Tiziana Terenzi sample should I try first?
Kirkè. It has the most Parfumo ratings of the ten on our list by a wide margin, and its fruit bouquet over lily of the valley, heliotrope and vanilla is the most recognisable face of the house.
Are all Tiziana Terenzi perfumes extraits?
The brand describes its perfumes as perfume extracts, sold in 100 ml bottles, and every sample on our list is labelled Extrait de Parfum. The collections, such as Classic, Luna and Anniversary, only group them.
Why do the stories matter?
The siblings Tiziana and Paolo Terenzi tell each perfume as a memory, from sailing trips to a bonfire in Montmartre. The stories explain the mood, but only the sample on your skin shows how the long note lists settle.
