FragranceGems describes it as one of the city's most renowned houses and carries, among others, the Hawas series as samples: Eau de Parfum that share a name and a fresh, masculine idea but differ in temperature, from the icy Hawas Ice to the amber-heavy Hawas Highness. About Rasasi

Oriental and Occidental

Rasasi presents its catalogue in two halves, an Oriental line in the Gulf tradition and an Occidental line in a western style, and FragranceGems notes its reputation for quality raw materials and refined compositions. The samples sold here all belong to the Hawas series, the house's widely known modern line, so what you test is Rasasi at its freshest rather than its oud side.

One name, many temperatures

Rasasi Hawas Ice opens with apple, Italian lemon, Sicilian bergamot and star anise, moves to plum, orange blossom and cardamom and ends on musk and amber. Rasasi Hawas Fire swaps that for clary sage over Egyptian jasmine and marine notes on ambergris and mineral amber. Rasasi Hawas Kobra turns up the spice with ginger, bergamot and mandarin over cinnamon, green tea and neroli. Rasasi Hawas Highness is the evening version, jasmine, rose and violet over patchouli, vetiver and cedar.

Rasasi Hawas Ice is the Hawas ordered most often as a sample at FragranceGems and the natural first vial for warm weather. Rasasi Hawas Highness, second in orders, is the evening version. Rasasi Hawas Fire is the warmer twin of Ice, Rasasi Hawas Malibu adds pineapple and lavender for a beach mood, and Rasasi Hawas Kobra turns up the spice. Ice and Highness on one day, one per wrist, mark the two ends.

Rasasi Hawas Ice for a cold, fruity citrus; Rasasi Hawas Fire if you want the same idea with more warmth; Rasasi Hawas Highness for a floral amber evening scent. Ice and Highness together cover the two extremes of the series.

Are the Hawas perfumes very similar to each other?

They share a fresh, masculine starting point but not their notes. Ice leans on apple and star anise, Fire on clary sage and jasmine, Kobra on ginger and cinnamon, Highness on rose and patchouli. On skin the differences grow with time, which is why we suggest wearing each for a full day.

How is a Rasasi sample at DecantGems made?

FragranceGems fills it from the original Rasasi bottle into a glass spray vial and labels it by hand. It is our decant; the house is not involved, and we are not affiliated with the brand.
