Another 13 grew out of a commission from AnOther Magazine, put in motion by the Colette boutique together with the magazine's editor-in-chief, and it now sits in Le Labo's Classic Collection. The Eau de Parfum rests on ambroxyde, a synthetic animal musk in the brand's words, with jasmine and moss for spike and shine. Skin-close musks are very personal, so a vial is wise.

Few perfumes begin as a magazine commission, and this one did. When Colette closed, Le Labo placed it in the Classic Collection, the house's range of Eau de Parfum fragrances. The story is specific, yet the scent itself comes down to a short list of three materials.

The brand builds the perfume on ambroxyde and describes it as a synthetic animal musk. That suggests a warm, skin-like centre rather than a floral or fruity one. Le Labo says little more about the material, so judge it by wearing it: musks differ strongly from skin to skin.

About Le Labo
Le Labo began in 2006 as a small laboratory in Nolita, New York, opened by two friends, Fabrice Penot and Eddie Roschi. The names follow a formula, a raw material plus a number, and they rarely tell the whole story: Santal 33 is as much cardamom, iris and violet as sandalwood, and in Patchouli 24 birch smoke takes over. That is why samples matter with this house. A 10 ml decant shows what the name leaves out, on your skin, over several days.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
