It opens with coffee and almond, moves to patchouli, chocolate and milk, and ends on sandalwood, chocolate, vetiver and cistus. Chocolate appears twice in this pyramid, so a 10 ml decant is a good way to see how a gourmand perfume with this shape behaves on you before the 50 ml bottle.

Coffee and almond
Coffee and almond start the perfume with a roasted, slightly bitter warmth and a nutty, marzipan-like softness. There are only two notes in the top, so the opening is simple and direct, and it makes clear within moments whether you enjoy coffee in a perfume.

Patchouli, chocolate and milk
The heart combines patchouli, chocolate and milk. Chocolate gives the bittersweet centre, milk rounds it into something creamier, and patchouli adds earth so the whole does not tip into dessert. This is the stage where the gourmand character is strongest.

Sandalwood, chocolate, vetiver and cistus
Chocolate comes back in the base, now with sandalwood, vetiver and cistus. Sandalwood is creamy, vetiver dry and earthy, cistus resinous and amber-like. These keep the finish from being purely sweet and give it a woody depth.

Is it a dessert perfume?
Chocolate appears in both the heart and the base, alongside milk, so the gourmand side is strong. Patchouli, vetiver and cistus add earth and wood. Your skin decides how sweet it feels.
What will arrive in the package?
The 10 ml glass spray vial is decanted by FragranceGems straight from the original bottle and carries our own label, so there is no doubt about what is inside.
Why is chocolate listed twice?
That is how the pyramid is recorded: chocolate in the heart and again in the base. The decant shows you whether it develops or simply stays.

Mykonos is an Indonesian perfume house with a Mediterranean name. Its motto is "Born in Indonesia. Built for the world", the perfumes are produced in Indonesia and most of them are Extrait de Parfum, with a few Eau de Parfum. The range in Europe counts 49 perfumes across six scent families. A sample is the easiest way to find out which of those families suits your skin before you choose a 50 ml or 100 ml bottle.
