Leather first
Leather is the only note listed in the top, which makes the opening unusual: the first thing you smell is meant to be leather rather than citrus or spice. Spray it and see whether it feels smooth and warm or sharp and dry on you.

Cypress and patchouli
The heart pairs cypress with patchouli. Cypress is a green, dry, resinous wood and patchouli an earthy one, so the middle should feel dry and woody. Notice how the leather changes once these two come in, and whether the patchouli adds earth or sweetness.

Woods, amber, vetiver
The base lists woody notes, amber and vetiver. Amber adds a little warmth, vetiver a clean, earthy dryness and the woody notes a broad backdrop. Smell your wrist again later in the day to see whether it ends warm or dry.

Wear it on a cool day on clean skin, one spray on the neck and one on a wrist, and pay attention to the first few minutes, when the leather is clearest. Try it again in the evening and on a mild day, so you know how it behaves when it is not cold.

Is Cordova a leather perfume?

What is cypress doing here?
