Street Origins Oars and Yours, Venice is an Extrait de Parfum built from very few parts: sea notes and bergamot on top, black pepper and geranium in the heart, patchouli, vetiver and cedarwood underneath. FragranceGems calls it salty, fresh and woody, tagged strong. A short pyramid leaves nowhere to hide, so a decant tells you quickly whether you like its plain lines.

Sea notes and bergamot
Two notes open the scent: sea notes and bergamot. The first is a salty, watery impression, the second a bright citrus edge. FragranceGems describes a fresh, briny start. Because the top is so simple, what you smell in the first minute is close to what the whole opening is.

Black pepper and geranium
Black pepper and geranium form the heart. Pepper adds a dry, spicy accent, and geranium a green, slightly rosy freshness. FragranceGems says the pair brings a spicy accent to the salt. It is a small turn, and it is what keeps the scent from being only a sea impression.

Patchouli, vetiver, cedarwood
The base is patchouli, vetiver and cedarwood, which FragranceGems calls dry and woody. Patchouli brings earth, vetiver a rooty dryness and cedarwood a pencil-shaving clarity. All three are woods and roots rather than sweet notes, so the finish stays austere. Judge it later in the day.

Wear it on a mild day on clean skin, perhaps the way you would wear a morning scent, and smell it at the start, after a walk and again late in the day. Because it is tagged strong, apply a modest amount first. A warm day shows the salt, a cool one the woods.
Who it is for
For people who like a dry, salty-woody scent without sweetness and who want it for daily life, the office and the evening. Nothing in the notes ties it to one gender. If fresh perfumes usually seem short-lived or thin to you, the extrait strength may be the reason to try this one.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
