Candied citron’s bitter edge
Candied citron brings a sweet-bitter, almost aristocratic edge to the citrus trio of citron, Sicilian orange and bergamot. The orange is sunny and the bergamot clean, so the opening is bright without being sugary. Expect a polished, grown-up start.

Ginger and neroli
Ginger and neroli share the heart. Ginger is sharp and modern, neroli, the blossom of the bitter orange tree, soft and floral. FragranceGems describes the pairing as aromatic and refined. It is the stage that links fruit to wood, so notice how the sharpness settles.

Ambroxan, guaiac wood and black tea
The base is ambroxan, guaiac wood and black tea. Black tea gives a dry, slightly smoky tone, guaiac wood a charred woody depth and ambroxan a modern, glowing clarity. The finish is dry and clean, and nothing in the base is sweet.

Is candied citron sweet?
It adds a sweet-bitter edge, according to FragranceGems, and sits beside orange and bergamot. How sweet it feels depends on your skin and on the weather.
Where does the perfume in the vial come from?
The sample comes from the original bottle: FragranceGems fills the 10 ml glass spray vial and every vial gets our label, so there is no doubt about what is inside.
What does the black tea do?
Black tea in the base gives a dry, slightly smoky tone beside ambroxan and guaiac wood. It keeps the finish from turning sweet.

Velixir is a young perfume house from Indonesia, founded in 2025, that says it wants to "redefine accessible luxury in modern perfumery" and bring Indonesian perfumery to a global stage. The perfumes are Eau de Parfum and carry names from mythology: Icarus, Asteria, Aphrodite, Persephone, Poseidon. Because the range is wide and the names say little about the scent, a few samples side by side are the quickest way in.
