Mandarin and pear
Mandarin and pear give the opening a juicy, sunny sweetness. The mandarin is bright and slightly zesty, the pear soft and rounded, and FragranceGems describes the pair as vital and fruity. It is a gentle start that most people will find easy.

Ambrette at the centre
Musk ambrette, from ambrette seed, carries the heart alone. It has a plant-based, musky warmth with a faint nutty and floral side, and FragranceGems calls it a precious note. Because nothing competes with it, this is the moment that defines the perfume.

Wear it on a mild spring day, as FragranceGems lists spring, and apply to a clean forearm. Notice how the fruit gives way to the ambrette and then to the benzoin and musk. A second test indoors, at work, shows how it behaves in a closer space.

Is it only a spring perfume?
FragranceGems lists spring as its season. The notes are soft and fruity, so a warm summer day is also worth a try, but spring is where the page places it.
What will arrive in the package?
Inside the 10 ml glass spray vial is perfume from the original bottle, decanted by FragranceGems and labelled by us, so there is no doubt about what is inside.
What is musk ambrette?
It is the name FragranceGems gives to the heart note, with ambrette seed in brackets. The seed gives a plant-based musky character, and the decant shows you how it feels on your skin.

About Velixir
Velixir is a young perfume house from Indonesia, founded in 2025, that says it wants to "redefine accessible luxury in modern perfumery" and bring Indonesian perfumery to a global stage. The perfumes are Eau de Parfum and carry names from mythology: Icarus, Asteria, Aphrodite, Persephone, Poseidon. Because the range is wide and the names say little about the scent, a few samples side by side are the quickest way in.
