Naxos is part of Xerjoff's 1861 collection, which marks the unification of Italy, and the house presents it as a tribute to Sicily: its heat, ornate architecture, layered history and the blue of its sea. Sun on lavender
Lemon and bergamot give the first minutes a clean, bright edge, and lavender adds a dry herbal tone, with incense from Oman running underneath as a thin resinous line. The brand calls the opening fresh and aromatic, softened by spice rather than sharpened by it.

When the honey arrives
Jasmine sambac and honey bring a warm, gourmand sweetness to the heart, while cinnamon adds dry heat so it does not turn syrupy. Cashmere rounds the middle with a soft, woody warmth. This is where the scent turns from bright to dense.

Vanilla, tobacco leaf and tonka bean form the base, sweet and dry at once. The brand speaks of a long, enveloping trail, and these three notes carry that weight. By then the lavender from the opening is only a memory, and the whole scent has settled onto the skin.

Xerjoff was founded in Turin in 2007 by Sergio Momo and Dominique Salvo and describes its own approach as artistic, maximalist and opulent: every scent a work of art inside another work of art. The range is organised in collections, from 1861, which marks the unification of Italy, to Join The Club, whose notes are kept secret. With perfumes this rich, and some whose notes are not disclosed at all, a 10 ml decant is the sensible first step.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
