Plum and brandy
The top is only two notes, plum and brandy. The plum brings dark, slightly tart fruit and the brandy adds a warm, boozy edge, so the first impression is fruit that has been steeped in spirit. It is the moment that tells you whether the mood is for you.

Saffron, leather and coffee
In the heart saffron gives dry, warm spice, leather lends a supple texture and coffee adds a roasted touch. The three together feel dark and velvety. Saffron is what the perfume is named for, but the leather decides how serious the whole thing becomes.

Patchouli, vanilla and musk
The base rests on Indonesian patchouli for earthy depth, vanilla for a creamy softness and musk for a quiet finish near the skin. After the spice of the heart it settles into a calm, warm ground, and that is the part you carry home.

What do I get?

Is the leather easy to notice?
Leather is recorded in the heart next to saffron and coffee. Whether it comes forward or stays behind the spice depends on your skin, which is exactly what a sample shows you.
Is it only for cold weather?
The dark fruit, brandy and patchouli point to cooler seasons and evenings. If you want to know how it behaves in milder weather, the sample gives you room to test that too.
Does the sample match the 50 ml bottle?
Yes. The full bottle is a 50 ml Eau de Parfum, and the decant is filled from that same bottle, so the concentration you test is the one you would buy.

About BORNTOSTANDOUT
BORNTOSTANDOUT is a Seoul house launched in April 2022 under the motto 'We rebel against the standards'. The names are deliberately provocative, Dirty Rice, Fig Porn, Drunk Lovers, but the formulas are serious: each is composed by a credited outside perfumer and the Eau de Parfum line is dosed at 30 to 40% fragrance concentration. Perfumes this dense and this gourmand deserve a skin test before a full bottle, which is what our 10 ml decants are for.
