Tobacco leaf, iris and saffron
The opening sets Arabian tobacco beside iris and saffron. Tobacco gives a dry, sweet-leafy warmth, iris a cool, powdery softness and saffron a faintly leathery spice. Together they start the perfume low and warm rather than bright, so expect a slow, grown-up opening.

Salted caramel, rose and tonka
The heart is sweeter: salted caramel, rose and tonka. The salt keeps the caramel from sugary excess, rose adds an old-fashioned floral thread, and tonka rounds everything with a vanilla-almond softness. It is the gourmand stage of the perfume, so smell your skin again here.

Smoked coffee on a musky amber base
Musk, amber, patchouli and smoked coffee close the perfume. Coffee brings a roasted, slightly bitter edge, patchouli an earthy depth, and musk and amber a soft glow to hold it all. Judge the finish late in the evening, when the tobacco and coffee are what remain.

Use a small amount on clean skin of the forearm on a cool evening, and notice how the tobacco and iris arrive before the caramel does. Smell the skin again later, once the coffee and amber take over. A second wear on another day tells you whether the smoky sweetness stays pleasant.

Ibraheem Al Qurashi is a perfume house that FragranceGems describes as renowned for refined oriental scents and oud compositions, elegant and rooted in tradition. The samples sold here carry the house's short form IBRAQ and belong largely to its tobacco series: IBRAQ Brazilian Tobacco, IBRAQ French Tobacco and IBRAQ Spanish Tobacco, with IBRAQ White Regent Diamond as the softer outsider.
