Mandarin, blood orange and green apple
Three fruit notes open the perfume: mandarin, blood orange and green apple. It begins bright and juicy, and the apple gives it a crisp edge. Do not judge the tobacco yet; at this stage the scent is still all fruit, and the heart is yet to arrive.

Ginger, neroli, cinnamon and tobacco
The heart is where the name shows up. Ginger and cinnamon give warmth and spice, neroli adds a clean floral thread, and tobacco sits in the middle of it. This is the key stage of the sample, because here you learn whether the tobacco feels cosy and aromatic or too dry and smoky for you.

Lemongrass, frankincense, guaiac wood and iris
The base is lemongrass, frankincense, guaiac wood and iris. Frankincense and guaiac wood add a smoky, resinous side, iris contributes a powdery softness and lemongrass keeps a bright thread running through it. How to test it
Apply the decant on clean skin on a cool day and in the evening, in line with the autumn and winter tags at FragranceGems, but also try it once at work. Smell your wrist at the start, at the heart when the tobacco arrives and once more when only the incense is left. A second day makes the picture sharper.
Who it is for
For people who are curious about tobacco in perfume but prefer it with a citrus start, spice and a soft powdery base rather than heavy sweetness. It is a fit for cool-weather days and evenings. If smoke or incense usually bother you, the sample tells you early.
