Bitter citrus, immediately
Grapefruit, citrus fruits and mandarin open the perfume. FragranceGems says the bitterness of the grapefruit gives an instant energy boost and a radiant start. Mandarin should round the edge, so the citrus is bright but not entirely sour.

A woody heart
Sandalwood and cedar form the heart. FragranceGems describes the pairing as creamy and dry at the same time, a strong structure. Sandalwood supplies the softness, cedar the straight line, and the sample shows how much of each you hear.

Amber, patchouli and musk
Amber, patchouli and musk close the perfume. FragranceGems says the warm amber melts into the earthy patchouli, with musk smoothing the finish. It is a base of warmth and earth, which should be easy to recognise on skin.

Is Ares a fresh perfume?
Its opening is fresh and bitter, but amber, patchouli and musk make the ending warm. FragranceGems tags it citrus, oriental and woody, so freshness is only the first part.

Velixir is a young perfume house from Indonesia, founded in 2025, that says it wants to "redefine accessible luxury in modern perfumery" and bring Indonesian perfumery to a global stage. The perfumes are Eau de Parfum and carry names from mythology: Icarus, Asteria, Aphrodite, Persephone, Poseidon. Because the range is wide and the names say little about the scent, a few samples side by side are the quickest way in.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
