Bujairami samples are a good problem to have: the collection holds close to forty perfumes with names like Drip, Gladiator and Smokilla, and the names say little about the mood. Mood is what most people really shop for, so this guide sorts eight of them that way. It is our own grouping, drawn from the recorded notes and the season and occasion tags in our records, and it is meant to shorten your first choice, not to replace the wearing.
A bright morning
These three are tagged for spring and summer and for daily wear. Bujairami Drip is the lightest in the house. Its record holds only a top, mandarin, orange and bergamot, and it carries the light intensity tag, which makes it a clean place to begin if you fear strong perfume.
Bujairami Dominus adds depth to the same idea. pineapple, pomelo and mandarin open it, mango and ginger follow, and amber and vetiver hold it. Mango and ginger in the middle keep a tropical thread running through the day.
Bujairami Stellar is tagged for summer only. Its top is long and bright: lime, blood mandarin, blood orange, lemon and bergamot. The heart brings tiare flower and powdery notes, and musk and sandalwood close it. It suits a warm day when you want citrus with a floral touch.
A holiday feeling
Bujairami Ibiza is the sunniest. The top reads lime, bergamot and tropical fruit, the heart coconut milk and white flowers (jasmine), and the base white musk and tonka. Coconut milk and white musk make it soft rather than sharp, and our records place it in summer, for daily wear, evenings and sport.
A night out
Two samples are tagged for the evening and for autumn and winter. Bujairami Date Night is the milder of the two, with apple, lavender, bergamot and orange on top, violet and jasmine in the heart, and vanilla, cardamom, sandalwood, pepper and patchouli underneath. Violet and jasmine give it a soft floral turn before the vanilla and sandalwood take over.
Bujairami Agha is the stronger one, tagged for evenings and special occasions. cardamom, clove and apple lead, cinnamon, lavender and geranium form the heart, and Bourbon vanilla, cedar and amber make the base. A spiced and sweet profile like this one is easy to over-spray, so start with one spray.
A cold evening
Bujairami Smokilla is the cosiest. The recorded top is tobacco leaf and warm spices, the heart vanilla, cocoa, tonka bean and tobacco blossom, and the base dried fruits and warm woods. Cocoa, vanilla and tobacco together are why it sits in the gourmand and oriental families.
Bujairami Gladiator uses a very short list, saffron first, then tobacco, and vanilla below. With so few named notes, the sample has to show you the rest. Both Smokilla and Gladiator are tagged strong.
Where the moods overlap
The groups are not walls. Vanilla closes Date Night, Agha and Gladiator and sits in the heart of Smokilla, so a liking for vanilla leads from the night-out group to the cold-evening one. Bergamot appears in Drip, Stellar, Ibiza and Date Night, which means the bright group and one evening sample share more than their seasons suggest. Mandarin runs through Drip, Dominus and Stellar, so wearing one of the three is probably enough to learn whether the bright group is for you.
