A bright citrus start
Citron, bergamot and orange open the perfume with a clear, natural freshness. FragranceGems names Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange, so the top rests on named citrus rather than a general citrus note. Expect the first minutes to feel crisp, and give them a moment to move on before you decide.

Ginger, cinnamon and neroli
The heart turns aromatic and warmer. Nigerian ginger gives it a modern bite, Ceylon cinnamon a soft spiciness and Tunisian neroli a gentle floral touch. This is the moment where fresh turns into warm, and where you see whether the spice suits you.

Ambroxan, wood and tea
The base brings ambroxan, guaiac wood, olibanum and Chinese black tea. FragranceGems describes the result as clean, with the tea and ambroxan carrying the signature. Olibanum adds a faint smoky resin, so judge the later stage on skin rather than by the opening alone.

Try it on a spring or summer morning on clean skin, one spray on each wrist, and smell it again once you have started your day. Wear it once more on a cooler day, because the ginger and cinnamon may feel quite different when the air is not warm. Note which part you notice most.

Is it a pure citrus perfume?
The top is citrus, but ginger, cinnamon and neroli follow, and the base holds ambroxan, guaiac wood, olibanum and black tea. It starts fresh and ends warmer and cleaner.
Will the cinnamon be too sweet?
FragranceGems places the cinnamon in the heart beside ginger and neroli, where it comes across as spicy rather than sugary. Your own skin decides, and a couple of test days will show it.
What size is the vial?
A glass spray vial with 10 ml of Hectic, filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us. That is enough for several test days.
