Al Ambra is a Dubai house, founded in 2016, that develops and produces its perfumes in its own workshop at Dubai Investment Park. The name joins “Al”, the Arabic perfume tradition of oud, incense and oils, with “Ambra”, amber and its warmth. The house describes oriental, woody, amber and Extrait compositions made for warm climates, with a smooth drydown and oil-rich textures. Everything we decant from it is an Extrait de Parfum, and the six on our list are quieter than the name suggests. Three or four of them are written as minimalist skin scents, which is why an Al Ambra sample tells you more than a description.

Dubai Musk (2020) is the skin musk with a gentle floral touch: bergamot, black currant and soft musk, then magnolia, mandarin orange and sandalwood, over musk and hedione.
Black Forest (2021) is clean and minimal: grapefruit, ambroxan and woody notes, a citrus-woody skin scent that the house calls lighter and subtler than a classic citrus perfume.
Black Forest Elixir (2025) is a modern aldehydic floral: aldehydes, bergamot, mandarin and white peach, then orange blossom, lily of the valley and ambrette, over musk, vanilla, ambroxan, patchouli and woods.
Ravenna (2026) opens with luminous citrus and golden fruit: lemon, bergamot, orange, pineapple and mango, then ginger, cinnamon and Tunisian neroli, over black tea, guaiac wood, rosemary and ambroxan.
Loren (2024) is a gourmand leather for evenings: candy, berries and soft leather, then apricot, patchouli and soft resinous accords, over musk, woods and light florals.
Vanilla Night & Day (2026) is the sweetest, and filed under women in our records: red fruits and vanilla, then caramel, honey and powdery notes, over vanilla, sugar and musk.
Black Forest and Black Forest Elixir share a name but not a character: the first is a clean grapefruit and ambroxan skin scent, the second an aldehydic floral with white peach and orange blossom. Wearing the two on different days is the quickest way to see what the house means by an Elixir, and both are labelled Extrait de Parfum.
The Al Ambra note map
