Assaf Attacks is an Eau de Parfum with a very short pyramid: spices at the top, vetiver in the heart, amber and patchouli in the base. Spices to start
The top is recorded as spices, nothing more, and FragranceGems describes the start as green and slightly peppery. With only one note named, the opening is a straightforward one, and it hands over to the heart without much delay.

Vetiver at the centre
Vetiver alone carries the heart. It brings a fresh, green and earthy character, a bit like cut roots and dry grass. Because nothing else competes with it, the vetiver is the note that decides whether this perfume works for you.

Amber and patchouli
The base pairs amber with patchouli. Amber adds warmth, and patchouli adds a woody, earthy tone, so the finish is dry and grounded rather than sweet. The earthiness of the vetiver carries into this stage, which makes the perfume feel consistent from start to end.

Apply one pass to a clean forearm and note the spice first, then the vetiver, then the amber and patchouli. Wear the sample on a second day in a different setting, such as the office, and compare. With so few notes, differences between days are easy to spot.

Is it a fresh or a warm perfume?
It leans both ways: the vetiver is fresh and green, the amber and patchouli add warmth. FragranceGems tags it as fresh, woody and floral. The sample shows which side wins on you.
Where does the perfume in the vial come from?
Each 10 ml glass spray vial is filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and then labelled by us.

Which seasons suit it?
