A story told in one note
Diptyque ties the perfume to the myth of Eros and Psyche and says musk is the only note sensual enough for it. The house describes that musk as cottony, light, soft and moist. Nothing about it is loud, so judge it in a quiet room.

Iris and ambrette
Iris adds a cool, powdery softness, and ambrette seed gives a gentle, warm, musky nuance. These two keep the musk from sitting flat. You will probably notice them most when you hold your wrist close to your face rather than from a distance.

The pink pepper spark
Pink peppercorn brings a small, bright touch of spice. It is there to lift the musk slightly, not to turn the perfume spicy. Because the pyramid is so short, each of the four notes is easy to follow as you wear it through the day.

How to test it
Put it on clean, bare skin and keep other scented products out of the way, since a skin scent is easily covered. Wear it for a normal working day in spring or autumn, then repeat on another day. Notice if it stays close or disappears into your skin for you.

It is unisex and suits people who like intimate scents more than showy ones. Quiet days, work and mild weather fit it. If you find strong perfumes tiring, or you enjoy musk and iris in a gentle form, the idea will make sense quickly, though a sample will confirm it.

Who composed it?
Olivier Pescheux, in 2018, for the Paris house Diptyque, which was founded in 1961. The decant itself is not made by Diptyque: it is our own filling and not an official brand sample.

About Diptyque
Diptyque began in Paris in 1961 as a boutique run by three friends at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain, and perfume followed later. Its eaux de toilette and eaux de parfum are portraits of places and plants: a fig grove in Greece, sandalwood burned in Vietnamese temples, a river under a willow. Most are built on a short list of notes and wear lightly, so a 10 ml decant is the honest way to find out which portrait suits your skin before you buy a bottle.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
