How it unfolds

Four citrus notes
Bergamot, yuzu, litsea and mandarin open the scent. Yuzu supplies a tart, slightly floral edge and litsea a lemony lift, so the start is crisp and quick rather than sweet. If you like bright openings, you will notice it immediately.

Tea, magnolia and thyme
Green tea has a clean, slightly grassy character, magnolia adds a soft, airy floral note, and thyme oil gives an aromatic, herbal edge. The brand wanted the sharp edges of its first formula softened, and this heart is where you judge whether it feels soft or still crisp on you.

Musk and fig
Musk and fig finish the scent. Fig adds a soft, milky green sweetness and the musk keeps the end smooth and close to the skin. No heavy woods or resins are listed, so the ending stays light. Notice how much of this quiet base you carry with you.

Is it very floral?
Not mainly: magnolia is the floral note, but green tea, thyme and citrus keep the scent fresh and green. The sample shows how much flower you perceive.
Is it only a summer scent?
The brand describes it as wearable all year round, and the soft musk and fig base lets it work on cooler days. Test it in the weather you actually plan to wear it in.

About Nishane
Nishane was founded in Istanbul in 2012 by Mert Güzel and Murat Katran, and the name means mark, sign or symbol. Almost everything the house makes is an Extrait de Parfum, and each perfume carries a story: a shadow-theatre character, a line by Rumi, an Anatolian folk song. Several of the favourites now also exist in a reworked X version. Stories and versions are easier to choose between on skin, which is what a few 10 ml decants are for.
