Osmanthus and black tea
The opening is quiet: osmanthus, with its soft, dry, slightly fruity air, and black tea with a faint bitterness. It feels closer to stepping into a warm room than to a bright splash. Underneath, the darker heart is already faintly audible.

Tobacco and rum
The heart places tobacco next to rum. Together they give dried leaf, a syrupy, boozy warmth and a hint of smoulder, which is what the brand means by a voluptuous backdrop. It is dense without being loud and gives the perfume its weight.

Tonka, vanilla, leather
Tonka bean and vanilla soften the base with creamy sweetness, while leather stops it from turning sugary. What remains is smooth, dry-sweet and slightly animal. A decant lets you follow how this base behaves on your skin over an evening.

No. We decant the Eau de Parfum from the original bottle ourselves into a glass spray vial and add our label. The house has no hand in it.

Les Eaux Primordiales calls itself a manufacture de parfums and means it literally: Arnaud Poulain founded the house in 2015 near Arras in northern France, and everything from the first sketch to the bottling happens on its own wooded estate. The ranges borrow their names from science, Superfluide, Supercritique, Supermassive, and several materials, amber, oud, appear in more than one weight. Samples let you compare those weights before choosing.
