Bergamot and elemi
A brief, bright opening: bergamot for clean citrus, elemi for a peppery, resinous freshness that hints at what is coming. It passes quickly, like a thin layer of light over something deep. The spice appears almost immediately afterwards.

Cinnamon, fir balsam, labdanum
Cinnamon leads the middle, warm and dry. Fir balsam adds a cool, needle-tree resin and labdanum a darker, ambery sweetness. The brand describes spices dragging the base upwards into a hazy, dense centre, and the mood here is warm and resinous rather than sweet.

About Les Eaux Primordiales
Les Eaux Primordiales calls itself a manufacture de parfums and means it literally: Arnaud Poulain founded the house in 2015 near Arras in northern France, and everything from the first sketch to the bottling happens on its own wooded estate. The ranges borrow their names from science, Superfluide, Supercritique, Supermassive, and several materials, amber, oud, appear in more than one weight. Samples let you compare those weights before choosing.
