A cool shimmer
Aldehydes, neroli and ambrette open it. The aldehydes give a crisp, cool shine, neroli a green-bitter blossom edge, and ambrette a dry, slightly warm musky note. It is bright but not sharp, and it sets the chilly tone the house is after.

The pale flowers
Rose, iris and violet make a smooth, powdery heart. Iris contributes a cool, slightly cosmetic softness, violet a faint sweetness, and the rose rounds both without bringing in warmth. These flowers act more as texture than as colour, and they stay close to the skin.

Sugar-light musk
White musks form the long, clean base, with benzoin adding a trace of sweet resin and ambroxan a smooth, airy glow. The house compares the sweetness to icing sugar. See on your own skin whether the sugar stays whisper-light or becomes more noticeable.

Les Eaux Primordiales calls itself a manufacture de parfums and means it literally: Arnaud Poulain founded the house in 2015 near Arras in northern France, and everything from the first sketch to the bottling happens on its own wooded estate. The ranges borrow their names from science, Superfluide, Supercritique, Supermassive, and several materials, amber, oud, appear in more than one weight. Samples let you compare those weights before choosing.
