How it unfolds

Orange, citrus, spice
Red orange, mandarin, lemon and bergamot open the perfume, and green notes keep the citrus crisp. Ginger, cinnamon, clove and pink pepper add what the brand calls a light sprinkle of spice. The start is juicy and bright, and the spice gives warmth from the first minute.

Fruit the colour of wine
Peach, blackcurrant, apple, raspberry and red grape make the heart dark and juicy, and tinto wine deepens it further. Turkish rose and cardamom run underneath, so the fruit is also slightly floral and spiced. The brand calls this stage warm, or caliente.

Sugar, vanilla, wood
Cane sugar, vanilla and vanilla pods round off the base with sweetness. Tonka bean and benzoin add warmth, and sandalwood, cedarwood and birchwood keep it from turning sticky, with patchouli, musk and amber below. As an extrait, the drydown stays tight to the skin.

How to test it
An extrait is dense and the base is sweet, so apply it lightly to clean skin before you head out and leave it alone. Warm evenings and mild autumn days suit it, when the citrus is bright and the vanilla soft. Judge it over two different evenings, since sweetness feels different in different weather.
Who it is for
People who enjoy fruit and spice over a sweet base, and who want a perfume with colour rather than a quiet, clean one. Unisex, and at home at dinners, parties and summer evenings. A formal office or a very hot afternoon is a less natural setting for it.

Lorenzo Pazzaglia grew up around his family's restaurant in the hills of the Marche, and the brand tells his story as that of a chef, a nose and a dreamer. You notice the kitchen in the perfumes: rum over vanilla pods, mango with coconut milk, red wine and cherry, salt and seaweed. The house, founded in 2021, makes Extrait de Parfum only. Formulas this dense and this literal are worth wearing as a 10 ml decant before you choose a bottle.
