Fruit and spring flowers
The top gathers apple, cherry, plum, citrus, lilac, muguet, rose and violet leaf. It is a lot at once: ripe fruit next to cool spring flowers. The test is whether this juicy, pastel start feels fresh or overly sweet on your skin, because the rest follows from it.

Honey, honeysuckle, mimosa
The heart brings honey, honeysuckle, mimosa, peony, tulip and ylang. This is the nectar part of the story, the endless flowers the bird flies through. It is soft, powdery and sweet. Whether it feels like a bouquet or a syrup is a personal matter, and it is the best reason for a sample.

Cream, moss and a nest
The base uses amber, coumarin, cream, moss, musks, sandalwood and white woods. The brand finishes with a velvety whipped-cream accent, and the moss refers to the nest lined with lichen. As an extrait it stays close, so the creamy drydown gets a fair test on a second day.

The brand page gives 23% and names it an Extrait de Parfum. The decant you receive is filled from the 60 ml bottle of that extrait.
What is in the sample vial?
A 10 ml decant in a glass spray vial, filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us. It is not an official brand sample, and Zoologist is not involved.
Is it too sweet?
It is sweet but light on its feet: fruit, honey and cream sit beside lilac, peony and violet leaf, and moss and white woods keep the base from being syrupy. Your skin will decide the balance.
Is it fruity or floral?

About Zoologist
Zoologist names every perfume after an animal and gives each one to a different perfumer, whose name is printed on the box. Victor Wong founded the house in Toronto in 2013, and he is frank about the result: the brand calls its range creative, artistic and strong, not mass-appeal, and does not recommend buying a full bottle without trying a sample first. A 10 ml decant lets you find out whether Bee, Squid or Tyrannosaurus Rex is an animal you can live with.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
