Aldehydes and watermelon
FragranceGems says the crisp, clean aldehydes and sunny citrus cut through the juicy sweetness of the watermelon, and calls the result a sparkling opening. Aldehydes divide opinion, since some people find them soapy and others bright. A sample shows which camp you are in.

A powdery floral bouquet
The heart combines powdery notes, jasmine, freesia, rose and white flowers. FragranceGems describes a lush, velvety bouquet with an elegant, layered feel. With that many flowers, rose can lead or hide depending on skin, so smell it again after the sparkle has gone.

Sandalwood warmed by amber
Sandalwood, cedar wood, vanilla, amber and musk end the perfume. FragranceGems says the creamy sandalwood and clean musk are warmed by the balsamic depth of amber. That is where the perfume turns from sparkling to soft, and where you decide whether the vanilla is too much or just right.

How to test it
Wear it on an evening out, on clean skin with a spray on the neck and another on the wrist, and again on a normal afternoon to see its quieter side. Notice the sparkle in the first minutes, the flowers after that and the warm base later. Two different occasions tell you more than one.

Suited to anyone who likes floral and fruity perfumes with a woody, vanilla-tinted base, for evenings and special occasions. Is Sparkling Rose a heavy rose perfume?
Rose sits in the heart with jasmine, freesia and white flowers, and FragranceGems calls the bouquet lush and velvety. The citrus and aldehydes on top keep it bright, so it is more sparkling than dense.
Does it smell powdery?
Powdery notes are named in the heart, together with aldehydes in the top, which FragranceGems describes as crisp and clean. How powdery it feels depends on your skin, so a few wearings help.
Is it only for special evenings?

Mykonos is an Indonesian perfume house with a Mediterranean name. Its motto is "Born in Indonesia. Built for the world", the perfumes are produced in Indonesia and most of them are Extrait de Parfum, with a few Eau de Parfum. The range in Europe spans six scent families. A sample is the easiest way to find out which of those families suits your skin before you choose a 50 ml or 100 ml bottle.
