Lavender and mugwort first
Lavender and mugwort give the start an aromatic, slightly bitter tone, with bergamot and cardamom adding brightness and warmth. It is an herbal, spicy opening and not at all a dessert. Wait before you judge it, because the vanilla of the name arrives later.

A busy spiced heart
Cinnamon, cumin, lily of the valley and green mint share the heart. Cumin is a polarising spice, and the mint and lily of the valley are there to freshen it. This is the part that will surprise you, for better or worse, and the reason to try it on skin.

Vanilla with tobacco and wood
Musk, vanilla, dry woods, tobacco and benzoin make the base. Here the vanilla finally steps forward, but the tobacco and dry woods keep it from turning into plain sweetness. Look at how dry or how creamy the ending feels on you.

A perfume called French Vanilla that includes mugwort, cumin and tobacco is not what the name suggests, and that is exactly why a description helps less than a trial. The vial is decanted by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us; Naseem did not prepare it, so it is not an official brand sample.
