Spice, apple and cognac
Four notes crowd the top: cinnamon, apple, nutmeg and cognac. It is a warm, spiced start, with the apple giving a thread of fruit through the spices. Notice how much cognac you pick up, since its boozy depth either adds richness for you or tips the opening towards heavy.

Plum, dry wood, date
In the heart, plum, dry wood and date give a ripe, woody core, as FragranceGems puts it. Date and plum are both dark and sticky-sweet, while dry wood adds a firmer, drier note. This middle stage tells you whether the fruit or the wood leads on your skin.
