Cognac
The top is cognac alone, which FragranceGems describes as a warm start that sets the tone immediately. With nothing else beside it, the first moments tell you a lot about whether this warmth is for you. It is a short stage, so a second sniff is worth it.

Cinnamon, tonka bean, oakmoss
Cinnamon, tonka bean and oakmoss add a spicy and sweet layer that holds the warmth of the opening. Oakmoss brings a damp, woody depth against the sweetness. This is the stage where you decide whether the spice is cosy or too insistent.

Praline, vanilla, sandalwood
Praline, vanilla and sandalwood make the finish round. Praline and vanilla are sweet, while sandalwood keeps a creamy wood line underneath. Come back to it late in the day and note whether sweet or wood has the last word.

Use it on a cold evening, once on clean skin, and avoid layering it with other scented products so you can read it properly. Note the first moment, the middle of the evening and the next morning's sleeve. Another try in daytime shows if it still works without the dark.

Is the cognac note strong?
It is the only note in the top, so it carries the opening alone. FragranceGems calls it a warm start that sets the tone, and it then gives way to cinnamon, tonka bean and oakmoss.
Is Zikra very sweet?
Praline, vanilla and tonka bean point to sweetness, and FragranceGems says warm and sweet. Cinnamon and oakmoss add spice and depth, which keeps it from being simply sugary.
Can I wear it in spring?
FragranceGems lists autumn and winter and a strong intensity. If you wonder about milder days, a small decant lets you try it without much commitment.
