There is no gentle build-up. Incense and leather arrive together and set a dark, smoky tone straight away. Notice whether the leather feels refined and soft or raw on you, because that single impression predicts most of your verdict.

Patchouli and myrrh deepen the heart with earth and resin. Myrrh brings a dry, balsamic touch that links the incense above to the wood below. If patchouli sometimes turns sharp on you, this is the stage where it will show.
