Incense first
Incense starts the perfume. FragranceGems calls this opening aromatic, resinous and slightly smoky, with a mystical depth. Incense on top of the pyramid puts the smoke in front from the start, so expect it from the first spray.

Sandalwood in the middle
Sandalwood alone forms the heart. FragranceGems describes its texture as creamy, milky and powdery, balancing the smoky top. This is the stage that turns the opening from sharp to soft, and the one to judge carefully, because a single note has to carry the whole middle of the perfume.

Amber to end
Amber is the only base note. FragranceGems calls it golden, balsamic and warm, and credits it with giving the woody, smoky facets stability. Expect the end of the perfume to feel warm and unhurried, with the amber standing alone under the wood and smoke above it.

How to test it
FragranceGems tags it strong and for evening and special occasions, autumn and winter, so use a restrained amount on a cool evening. Notice how the incense smoke meets the creamy sandalwood. Keep a second try for a milder day to see whether the smoke still feels welcome.
Who it is for
For people who like smoky, woody and oriental perfumes and prefer a focused list to a crowded one. If incense has felt too churchlike or too sharp in other perfumes, the sandalwood and amber here may rebalance it, and the sample shows whether they do.

Is Nyx very smoky?
Incense leads the pyramid, described by FragranceGems as resinous and slightly smoky. The sandalwood and amber are meant to soften it, and your skin decides how far they do.
Why only three notes?
Those are the notes recorded for it, one per tier. A short list can mean a focused perfume, and the sample shows whether that focus works for you.
Is it a night-time perfume?
FragranceGems tags it for evening and special occasions, which suits an after-dark setting. Wear the sample then first, and try a cooler morning to see how it changes.

About Velixir
Velixir is a young perfume house from Indonesia, founded in 2025, that says it wants to "redefine accessible luxury in modern perfumery" and bring Indonesian perfumery to a global stage. The perfumes are Eau de Parfum and carry names from mythology: Icarus, Asteria, Aphrodite, Persephone, Poseidon. Because the range is wide and the names say little about the scent, a few samples side by side are the quickest way in.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
